The various and interlocking oppressions experienced by postgraduate students in their academic research under the influence of neoliberal universities – positioning them as consumers of education, promoting personal responsibility and competition, etc. These phenomena were examined with a focus on the role identity given to students who want to commit to anti-oppressive and social justice-based practice within the academic hierarchy.
